The north had an abundance of rivers and streams. These rivers and streams helped to power some of the textile mills and factories, making them the most industrialized area in the US. These factories made them extremely wealthy and allowed them to go into war with all of the materials they needed.
Generals
The Anaconda Plan was created by the Union army against the Confederate army. Winfield Scott, a union general, planned to blockade the confederate ports and have 80,000 soldiers make their way down the Mississippi River in order to split the Confederate army in half.

- more than enough materials. (food, money, credit, mineral resources, factories, transportation..etc.)

- Ulysses S. Grant was a union general in the Civil War. Grant was a very aggressive and determined leader, and due to this he was given Command of all of the U.S. armies.
- William T. Sherman was a union general most famous for his "March to the Sea." He and 60,000 soldiers marched for 285 miles from Atlanta to Savannah, stealing food, livestock, and burning homes and buildings.
